Kate Matheson BVM&S MRCVS
Born on a Northumbrian hill farm, Kate fulfilled a lifetime ambition by gaining a place to study at the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College in Edinburgh. She started at Robson & Prescott in 2004 becoming a director in 2012. Kate is particularily interested in farm animal medicine and herd health. She also has a keen interest in small animal surgery. Outside of work Kate used to enjoy skiing, running, cycling and mountaineering spending large amounts of her free time in Scotland and the Alps, but she is now a mother to Freddie who was born November 2014, so has less time for herself. She is an owner of a Springer Spaniel called Bungle.
Having first been introduced to Robson & Prescott by his father 40 years ago at the age of 2 months Sam has been ever present in the practice with the exception of sabaticals at Cambridge Vet school (vet degree & large animal internship), Ohio State University (Large animal surgery) & Skipton (mixed practice). Sam finally joined the practice in 2000 becoming a partner in 2001. Sam has sheep, Labradors and assorted exotic creatures. Sam Prescott has been awarded The Certificate in Exotic Animal Practice by the European School of Veterinary Post Graduate Studies after passing his exams in 2013!
Kate Murphy- BVMedSci BVM&S MRCVS- Kate graduated from Nottingham University in July 2015 and after seeing practice with us as a student started working at Robson & Prescott in September. Originally from the area, Kate was keen to return to Northumberland and work as a mixed animal vet. In her spare time Kate enjoys being outdoors, playing music and helping at a local farm.
